29 year old Demetrius Melo do Nascimento, also known as “Del” was killed with a shotgun blast to the head in Liberdade, Caruaru, state of Pernambuco, Brazil. The incident happened on Sunday, October 12th after an afternoon of drinking in a bar with some friends. According to eyewitnesses there, Del and his friend, Paulo Rodolpho had a misunderstanding that resulted in Rodolpho going home and returning with his 12 gauge shotgun and shooting Del once at point blank range in the head. Emptying his skull contents all over the street.
No surprise to anyone, I’m sure, but Del was an ex con although his last run in with law enforcement had been two years again when he was picked up for possession of a firearm.
Fun fact: this murder was the third one for October in Caruaru and the the 97th murder of 2014 in Caruaru.
